Our Founder
As the founder of Wheelhouse Sport Development, Kathleen Meade explores opportunities for a sport that she has been passionate about for 30 years.
Throughout her career, Kathleen has worked in every aspect of wheelchair basketball, from the international stage to collegiate athletics and grassroots initiatives. Her extensive background in the sport includes Paralympic experience, event management, and programming expertise.
She holds a Master of Science in Disability & Human Development Policy and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Rehabilitation, both from the University of Illinois.
Kathleen has a proven track record of supporting a wide range of wheelchair sport events—from academies and summer camps to state, regional, national, and international competitions, including two Paralympic Games.
Through this experience, she has developed deep expertise in games operations, including event planning, team leadership, budget management, media and public relations, and volunteer supervision. Her skill and insight have made her a trusted advisor to sports event organizers seeking to ensure successful and equitable event delivery.
In 2025, Kathleen was inducted into the United States Olympic and Paralympic Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs, CO, in recognition of her role as Team Leader for the 2004 USA Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Team.
Kathleen has seen the game at every level, and she’s eager to watch it grow.
Robb Taylor has been involved with wheelchair basketball since 1999. He is the current Head Coach for Auburn University’s Wheelchair Basketball Team. He has coached both the USA Men’s and Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Teams throughout his career beginning in 2002 serving in both Assistant and Head Coach roles. He secured three consecutive gold medals at the Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, and Paris 2024 Paralympic Games—the first men's team to accomplish this feat. Robb is one of the most winning elite level Paralympic wheelchair basketball coaches of all time.
